Sofie Straetmans studied law at the Katholieke Universiteit Brussel (KUB) and the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL). She's a member of the Brussels Bar since 2006 and won the Dean's Pleading Competition 2007-2008.

Sofie specialised in several areas of the civil law, particularly in insurance and liability law. She is also active in commercial litigations.
